Ronald Grzywinski, Director

Ronald Grzywinski is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, and co-founder of Shorebank Corporation, a US$1 billion regulated bank holding company that is in the business of increasing opportunities in under-invested communities. The company works domestically through twenty-two subsidiary and affiliated operating companies, including commercial banks in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, and Ilwaco, Washington. It operates internationally through Shorebank Advisory Services, its wholly owned consulting subsidiary. Prior to co-founding Shorebank in 1973, Mr. Grzywinski had been president of the Hyde Park Bank and Trust Company of Chicago and the First National Bank of Lockport (Illinois). He is a graduate of Loyola University, Chicago, and was a fellow of the Adlai Stevenson Institute of International Affairs. He served two years as a U.S. Army officer.
Mr. Grzywinski received a presidential appointment in 1978 as a founding director of the National Cooperative Bank. He was presented with the 1988 Medal for Entrepreneurial Excellence from the Yale University School of Management. He also serves as a director of several corporations and non-profit organizations.
