Lorin Gaertner joined Ecotrust Canada in 2008 as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst and is delighted to be applying his technical, analytical and problem-solving skills to the complex issues involved in building the conservation economy.

Lorin's most recent position prior to joining Ecotrust Canada was that of Planner Analyst in the Policy Planning Division of the City of Richmond, BC. Lorin has also worked as a park interpreter/naturalist in Ontario, a bio-medical researcher in Texas, and an independent consultant in bicycle, pedestrian and transit planning (from home while looking after young children).

Lorin studied Biological Sciences and Chemistry at the University of Guelph (BSc) and Biology at the University of Ottawa (MSc). With his wife and two children, he enjoys exploring Vancouver and the surrounding natural areas by bicycle.
