Ecotrust Canada is a federally registered charity governed by an independent and voluntary board of directors. The organization is headquartered in Vancouver, BC, with a community office in Prince Rupert. While separately governed organizations, we have a shared history and ongoing alliance with Ecotrust in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Chris Bataille has been involved in energy and climate policy analysis for 16 years. He is currently executive director and founding managing partner of the Vancouver energy policy consulting firm Navius Research Inc., an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University, and board member and co-chair of Ecotrust Canada. He was executive director of MK Jaccard and Associates Inc. for 5 years.
He has managed several large national climate policy studies for Natural Resources Canada, the National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy, Environment Canada, the Pembina Institute and the David Suzuki Foundation, and has worked in various capacities for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and the Ontario Power Authority.
In addition to his contracted work, Chris has published several articles in The Energy Journal and Climate Policy, has edited a special edition of the Energy Journal on hybrid modelling, co-wrote a chapter of the most recent International Handbook of Energy Economics, and has written a number of peer-reviewed public policy publications, includingPricing Greenhouse Gas Emissions: The impact on Canada’s competitiveness for the C.D. Howe Institute.
