State of the Salmon’s second international conference, "Bringing the Future into Focus," is being held this year in Vancouver from February 2 to 5 and you can still register at the reduced Early Bird price!
State of the Salmon is the only conference dedicated to the conservation of Pacific salmon throughout their native range and is sponsored by the Wild Salmon Centre and Ecotrust (USA), our sister organization based in Portland.
The State of the Salmon Conference agenda is now set with an impressive lineup of speakers and panelists, including conservationist David Suzuki, ecologist and Ecotrust Canada board member C.S. "Buzz" Holling, political leader David Anderson, climate scientist Nathan Mantua, and Russian Federal Fisheries leader Vladimir Belyaev. To see the full schedule, click here.
Please join us for our third international conference regarding wild salmon conservation. This is an excellent opportunity for collaboration amongst the most skilled and knowledgeable people on the planet to create new strategies for unprecedented and urgent new challenges.
Evening receptions will create unique opportunities for dialogue and discovery with international colleagues, including:
- An opening Reception on Monday evening hosted by the Bering Sea Fishermen’s Association on behalf of the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim Sustainable Salmon Initiative
- An event at the Vancouver Aquarium on Tuesday evening hosted by the Pacific Ocean Shelf Tracking (POST) Project and the Census of Marine Life (CoML).
