GovernanceJacqueline Koerner, ChairElected: February 2, 1995 Jacqueline is the founding and current Chair of Ecotrust Canada, and also served on the Ecotrust board (Portland, OR) as a Director and Vice-Chair from 1994-2005. Jacqueline has an extensive background in the nonprofit sector and philanthropy. Her background includes employment with both the Vancouver Foundation, (Vancouver, BC) as a Program Director and Calmeadow Foundation, (Toronto, ON) as a Program Officer. In addition, Jacqueline has worked as an independent consultant for projects in Canada, the United States and overseas in the field of micro-enterprise development. Jacqueline served as a founding board member of BC Women’s Hospital Foundation (Vancouver, BC) and was the founding President of the Vancouver Child Study Centre (Vancouver, BC). She is currently a director of The Koerner Foundation, (Toronto, ON). Jacqueline is pursuing her PhD at UBC in the Department of Geography. She earned her MA in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs in Ottawa, ON in 1984, and a BA Honours in Geography from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON in 1982. Jacqueline lives in Vancouver with her husband, Robert Safrata, and their four teenagers, two of whom arrived at the same time. | |
