Restoring the Wild Side Trail

In the summer of 2009, the Ahousaht First Nation worked with BC Parks to rebuild the Wild Side Trail. The project is part of the Ahp-cii-uk Initiative, a community development initiative of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council. The Clayoquot Forest Communities Program is a partner of the initiative and staff member Stephanie Hughes facilitated several community meetings for the Wild Side Trail project. This winter the Ahousaht will start work on the next phase of the project, building a visitor centre and gallery in the village of Ahousaht.

The project was generously supported by BC Parks, the BC Conservation Corps, the BC Transmission Corporation, and the Donner Canadian Foundation. Click here to see a complete list of partners.
