Program Coordinator, Marine Monitoring Initiative
Brenna is a program coordinator working in fisheries and marine monitoring at Ecotrust Canada, bringing her diverse background and travels to the Skeena office. Born and raised in Prince Rupert, she received her BSc in Geography from the University of Northern BC and studied and worked internationally and in southern BC before returning to the North Coast. She has worked in the field with First Nations, recreational fisheries, and commercial harvesters, and is a certified Observer sampling salmon on the dock and biosampling crab on the ocean. She manages projects near and far, working with the Area A crab fleet, New England groundfish fleet in Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Cape Cod, Area C gillnet fishery, and testing electronic monitoring for recreational fisheries. Brenna has a passion for the mountains, coast, and people who call the north home, and when not at work, can often be found skiing or fishing.
