Eliana Macdonald

Manager, Knowledge Systems

Eliana Macdonald is a creative cartographer who enjoys helping people as much as she likes making maps. She has extensive experience creating maps that illustrate the variety of natural resource issues within British Columbia, including forestry, fisheries, energy, land use planning, and First Nations’ use and occupancy of traditional territories. Eliana’s maps have been published in several journals and publications, including 35 maps in “Living Proof,” a guide to best practices in use and occupancy mapping co-published by Ecotrust Canada and the Union of BC Indian Chiefs.

Eliana holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Victoria and a Master of Arts in Environment, Development and Peace with a specialization in Natural Resource Management. Eliana has served on the Board of the North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS) and as the mapping coordinator of the Vancouver Public Space Network. In her spare time, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and creative pursuits like knitting.
