Community Fisheries Manager
Sarah Harper has been working as part of the Ecotrust Canada fisheries team since May 2018, first as an intern through the University of British Columbia’s BRITE program, and then as a Community Fisheries Manager, since November 2018. She is completing her doctoral degree at the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries, UBC in the area of gender, fisheries, and economics. She brings her expertise on human dimensions of fisheries, commitment to social justice, and passion for marine conservation to her work and is keen to translate this into meaningful collaborations with coastal communities and partners, working together on fisheries access and policy issues.
Sarah loves to escape the city on weekends with her husband and two young daughters to spend time in nature. Being on or by the ocean is her happy place!
