We are an organization dedicated to bringing about social and environmental justice, and there can be no justice without an end to racism.
At the moment, the struggle for black lives is at its most intense in the United States, but Canada is no stranger to institutional racism against people of colour, and in particular, the systemic oppression of Indigenous peoples whose land Canada now occupies.
Our mission and our values demand that we stand in solidarity with those fighting racism, and in that spirit, we will listen to, and share, the voices of Black Lives Matter throughout the week. We will also spend every day this week, and all the days and weeks after that, listening to and working with our partner communities so that together, we can build a more inclusive, equitable, and resilient Canada.
