Jennifer has a BA in Environmental Studies from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. After graduating, she was curious to see where her food comes from and found herself on fishing boats as an observer. She enjoyed this introduction to the West Coast and was able to participate in a variety of fisheries. After a couple of years of dedicated sea time, she took on a different role within the At-Sea Observer program at Archipelago Marine Research, where she spent nine years working in different capacities. Hence, she brings to Ecotrust Canada an extensive understanding of the management and operations of commercial fisheries in B.C.
Now located in Prince Rupert with her family, Jennifer loves towns and cities with a rich fishing history. She is excited to be working with the fisheries monitoring programs at Ecotrust Canada, to build and support resilient fisheries in coastal communities.
