Ron Grzywinski was the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of ShoreBank Corporation, the first and largest certified Community Development Finance Institution in the U.S.
From 1973, ShoreBank invested in disadvantaged communities, created the nation’s first environmental bank and provided management advisory services to Grameen, BRAC and other local development banks in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. He has been the recipient of numerous honours, including the Theodore Hesburgh Award for Ethical Business Practices from the University of Notre Dame, the Independent Sector’s John W. Gardner Leadership Award and an Honorary Doctor of Business Degree from Northern Michigan University.
