Breanna Spence is a Housing Policy Analyst with Ecotrust Canada’s Indigenous Homelands Program. She supports research and policy initiatives related to Indigenous housing, community toolkit development, and Indigenous-led approaches to land and housing governance.
Breanna recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in International Relations at the University of British Columbia and will begin a Master’s in Political Science at the University of Toronto this fall. Her academic and research experience focuses on environmental governance, Indigenous rights, community-led development, and public policy. She has worked as an SSHRC-funded researcher and served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the UBC Journal of Political Studies, where she developed strong writing and editorial skills.
Breanna is passionate about advancing equitable, community-driven policy solutions and is committed to supporting research that strengthens Indigenous self-determination and sustainable communities. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, going on long hikes and trying out new recipes!
