Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Kirstyn grew up on the K’omoks reserve. She moved to Gold River in 2006, where her love for the outdoors began, participating in an annual elk hunt through the K’omoks Nation. She’s also been very blessed to have many opportunities to explore the beautiful territory of the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation through work and in her spare time.
Kirstyn started out working in Fisheries with Conuma Hatchery, which spiked her interest in aquaculture and helped her gain knowledge in fisheries.
