Pia joins Ecotrust Canada as a summer student while completing her Bachelor of Environmental Science at Royal Roads University. Based in Prince Rupert on the traditional territory of the Ts’msyen people, her role focuses on capturing local work in action by photographing, filming, and creating digital stories with our partners in the Skeena region. She also assists with fundraising to help grow the organization’s philanthropic program.
Prior to this, Pia spent over two years in communications for the Metlakatla First Nation. This experience deepened her connection to coastal communities and inspired her to blend her communications background with the environmental sector. This summer, she is excited to use her storytelling and content creation skills to highlight meaningful local sustainability initiatives.
In her free time, you can usually find her reading, keeping up with her favourite shows, or collecting rocks for her collection.
