The North Coast Innovation Lab was a place-based initiative from 2017 to 2020 that worked toward building a resilient and sustainable economy and community well-being. Below is how we described the project during its tenure. For more than a century, the northern coastal community of Prince Rupert has been subjected to the boom-and-bust cycles of an economy built upon natural resource extraction.
