Off the coast of Northwest BC, in Metlakatla waters, kelp and scallops grow in a nascent Regenerative Ocean Farm (ROF). Here is a growing collection of videos we’ve added to share what this work looks like to date. Watch how tiny kelp seeds planted along long lines in November 2023 had grown by May 2024. Ecotrust Canada, with support from FedEx, has been working with Metlakatla First Nation on the regenerative ocean farm, where they are growing three varieties of kelp. The project aims to create on-the-water jobs that provide healthy, local foods for the community on the North Coast of British Columbia.
